As we reach the end of this month, I am humbled by His Grace that knows no boundaries of age, nationality , culture or occupation. When your life is alligned with His promise, His Grace is your portion.
Let's examine a few women who found themselves in the flow of His grace. God partnered with them to accomplish extraordinary works despite how they were perceived in their communities
MARY
The mother of Jesus.
She was engaged to Joseph when Angel Gabriel came to her to announce her as highly favoured and blessed. The Spirit of God came upon her and overshadowed her as the Angel spoke, she then conceived our Lord Jesus while she was still a virgin. Luke1:35. One can only imagine how she was misunderstood and condemned, as an out-of-wedlock pregnancy was considered a silent disgrace in those days of the law. She endured the shame and her husband too be had his own angelic encounter that stopped him from breaking their engagement. Her obedience was costly. It costed her integrity, risked her marriage and surely those nine months were a journey of dying to self preservation daily. God is still looking for such woman in this end times. Surely if being understood by the world is of higher value to you, you have excluded yourself.
HANNAH
She was one of the two wives of Elkanah the priest. Elkanah loved her but Hannah was barren. Peninnah the other wife, had children. Peninnah provoked Hannah severely and made her miserable. 1Samuel1: 6. Hannah prayed to God with bitterness in her soul while weeping. She made a vow of promise to God in the midst of her anguish. She promised to give God what she did not have, what she was earning to earnestly give birth to. She vowed to give God a male child in her barren state. The word of God was rare in those days, there was no widespread revelation, as written in 1Samuel 3: 1b. There was no Prophet to reveal the word of God. Hannah conceived and gave birth to Samuel and brought her to Eli the priest in the Lord’s temple. Samuel became a Prophet of God. God was with him and none of his prophetic words fell to the ground. Meaning that every prophetic word that was spoken by Samuel, did come to pass. In 1 Samuel 2:21 we read that Hannah gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Hannah’s vow answered Heaven’s prayer for a Prophet. Where are those selfless women, who are available to conceive an answer for the Kingdom of God. Even if it means they surrender what they need most for the advancement of the Kingdom.
RAHAB
She was a Jericho prostitute who hid the Israel spies who came to search Jericho as they were sent by Joshua. Her family was saved when Israel took over Jericho. She confessed the God of the Israelites as her Lord. She knew that God has already handed Jericho over to the Israelites. Joshua 2: 9a “ I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us,” The man of Israel who were spies in Jericho promised to save Rahab and her whole family, only if she ties a scarlet cord on the window of her house. The window that was used to help them escape out of Jericho. Joshua 2: 15 “ Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was on the city wall; she dwelt on the wall.” She later bound the scarlet cord on her window. Her whole family was saved including her, when Israel captured Jericho. She agreed with the Israel spies that all her family members will be in her house , Joshua 2: 18. This part moves me….. her house was on the wall of Jericho. When the wall of Jericho fell, the part of the wall on which her house was built, did not fall. The scarlet cord was a sign of agreement that the Lord honoured. Do you wanna know what colour is scarlet???? Scarlet is RED!!!! Rahab the Jericho prostitute aligned herself with the plans of the God of Israel, who saved her family from death and she witnessed the power of the blood of Jesus. Jehovah, the God of the whole earth, who looks at the hearts, is still on the lookout for the present day Rahabs to capture territories for His Kingdom.
As you go into your secret place today. Sign up to answer Heaven’s prayers in your territory. Even if obedience leads to being misunderstood by others, they will eventually witness God’s mighty works and come to understand you, just as they did with Mary. Some are even worshipping her till this day in honour of her sacrificial obedience. The very area where you think you are barren, is the area of your most fruitfulness. Only if you surrender that area to the God of all flesh . Heaven awaits you “ WOMB MAN”….
Yours in Christ
Dr Mohau
